I’m noticing a pattern.

During the cutting and sticking process of the series ‘A cosmic fix for an uncared for soul’ (2016), which became the patterns for the textiles ’Mismash-Rehash-Megamix’ (2017-2018), which later became ‘Freeloader’ (2019) – the off cuts built up.

Once the paper collages were complete, I tidied up and looked at the pile of multicoloured paper bits. There was an urgency to use it all up and a need to find a place for every last piece of paper. The collaging happened in a careful frenzy over a space of a few days. A series of patterns were made. Some of them later became textile. The yellow one took hold and stuck.
