How can art be created in a city with increasingly limited physical spaces for art production and enjoyment? This is the challenge that The Fully Automatic Model aims to address during his three-month residency, which will mirror the nomadic nature of the Art Arcadia HEARTLANDS programme.

Drawing heavily from the DIY / maker movement, architecture, physics, and the dynamic interplay between natural and built environments, The Fully Automatic Model’s visual installations juxtapose these realms and highlight the points where they converge. 
The residency seeks to explore the relationships and perceptions of space and place by creating new contemporary visual pieces that will be designed for projection mapping onto buildings, objects and spaces of interest, using the locations in alternative and new ways. Bespoke node based visual design software, projection mapping technology and other tools will be used to achieve the residency objectives, which is to demonstrate how artists can transform any location into a venue for creative expression, experimentation, and exploration. 
The Fully Automatic Model’s work will focus on live generative and code-based visual art. Several performances are scheduled to occur between February and April at three undisclosed locations across Northern Ireland. These locations may be disclosed on the day of the scheduled projection on our social media, so following Art Arcadia is recommended if you’d like to experience the projections in person.  

 

Electronic music composer, performer and visual artist The Fully Automatic Model is widely recognised for his large-scale synchronised audio visual shows, bespoke AV / interactive installation pieces and Modulating Landscapes series, where live scores are created and recorded in real time at remote locations around the world.
The Fully Automatic Model experiments with cutting edge technology creating generative art, interactive installation, music videos and full visual shows for world class artists for years. The goal is always to create a truly unique visual piece from the ground up, that takes visual art somewhere new and to continually push the possibilities and perception of visual art and where it should exist. Each performance aims to encapsulate the idea that everything is constantly ebbing and flowing and these cycles alternate and constantly influence sound, movement, life and the rhythm of everything.
