Peter Glasgow

AGINCORE

artist residency: September - November 2025

walking tour: 3:00 pm 29 November 2025

Peter Glasgow

Agincore borrows its name from the famous battle in which a numerous French army suffered a catastrophic defeat when they became hampered by their own armour trying to traverse newly ploughed fields on 25th October 1415. Peter has been pursuing a fascination with this narrative, visiting museums, armour collections and manuscript libraries and taking up the hobby of historical miniature modelling.

During his three-month residency with Art Arcadia Peter has opened up his research to explore a range of associations and connections – attending ploughing competitions, investigating the Tower Museum’s storage facility and recording the voices of fans and players at Brandywell Stadium and Derry City FC.

The resulting work unfolds across six venues within the city centre, each hosting different pieces of the installation, around which Peter will lead a walking tour. The work is able to be experienced through different senses, including an audio piece designed to be listened to on your phone while en route, and works that can be touched, lifted and examined.
