St Augustine’s Summer Programme

Pascale Steven | Sue Morris | Stephanie Gaumond | Gail Mahon | Anne-Marie McKee

Five local artists are taking part in a creative studio residency programme, for a total length of time of over six months, at one of Derry/Londonderry’s most celebrated heritage sites: St Augustine’s Old Schoolhouse on the City Walls. The participating artists will develop individual projects based on their own practice and their response to the site’s physical, cultural and social environment. One artist at a time will take residence in the studio on the top floor of the Old Schoolhouse, producing site responsive work and undertaking a series of activities providing a platform for socially engaged practice. The end of each studio residency will be marked by a solo exhibition, the conclusion of the programme will be celebrated with a group exhibition.

The programme runs from early April to end of September 2018, as detailed below:

Pascale Steven, 9th April – 15th June
Sue Morris, 25th June – 13th July
Stephanie Gaumond, 23rd – 27th July
Gail Mahon, 6th – 24th August
Anne-Marie McKee, 3rd – 21st September

Throughout this time we will provide regular updates on the individual artists’ blog pages on this website and on our social media.
